What is a Sports Betting Rick? |
|
|
Each major sporting event or match is priced up by hundreds of internet bookmakers. We constantly scan those prices from more than 100 of the major ones and regularly we find that one or two bookmakers are offering a price about one of the outcomes which is massively out of line with other bookmakers, If the event is a tennis or soccer match or anything that has a limited number of outcomes then we have an arbitrage opportunity and we can lock in our profit at the outset.
If, however, that event has many outcomes like the winner of a league or cup competition or a tennis or golf tournament then clearly it isn't practical to take advantage of the out of line price by backing all the other possible outcomes.
Clearly the bet has a positive expectation but if we are to take advantage of the opportunity then on some occasions we must accept that for each event we risk losing our stake money but in the long run a sequence of bets at out of line prices will prove profitable. Note that we can still often lock in profts or protect our stake before the start of the event by laying the bet at a betting exchange or executing a spread bet as a hedge.

Why do Sports Betting Arbitrage Opportunities Ricks? |
|
|
Again, there are literally hundreds of bookmakers in many countries and time zones competing for our business. Each specialises in particular sports and is more familiar with competitors from their own local area. To compete for global business they must offer a wide range of sports from all around the World often well outside their areas of expertise.
- Often they are not aware of all the pertinent stats and facts particularly if the sport is not one they know well or the event is played overseas and they are unfamiliar with participants.
- Prices may be based on the anticipated flow of bets rather than the probabilities of the outcomes. For example when England play soccer most bets with UK bookmakers will be supporting England. Bookmakers may offer the opposition at an inflated price to create a balanced book.
- Offering so many markets bookmakers' odds compilers inevitably often may mistakes or are sloppy in pricing up an event. For example, in a typical week with four golf tournaments and a couple of tennis events bookmakers may have to price up 800+ outright odds plus over 400 matches just in these two sports alone. We only need to two bookmakers from the many available to have a difference of opinion in one of these markets to create an opportunity.
In that context it's easy to see why Sports Betting Arbitrage is such an outstanding opportunity.

How Can You Benefit from Sports Betting Ricks? |
|
|
Following our service you can set up a simple betting bank which over a reasonable time frame will show a profitable return. This is not rick free arbitrage (unless we lay the bet at a betting exchange or hedge with a spread bet) - to the extent that each individual bet can lose it is gambling. For that reason a degree of self discipline and an ability to cope with short term losses is necessary - this doesn't suit everyone's personality.
We recommend a very simple staking strategy. Determine the total amount you are prepared to risk and set this money aside as a Betting Bank.
Each rick should be staked as follows: -
Category A
Where the price of the rick is 5/1 (6.00) or less. Stake 5% of you Betting Bank.
Category B
Where the price of the rick is greater than 5/1 (6.00) and less than 20/1 (21.00). Stake 2% of you Betting Bank.
Category C
Where the price of the rick is 20/1 (21.00) or less. Stake 1% of you Betting Bank.
The size of stakes can be allowed to increase or decrease after the outcome of each bet is known or if you prefer stakes can be kept constant and profits taken at pre-determined levels.
